United Virtual Airlines has been in constant operation now for more than twenty‑four years, closely simulating the operations of the real United Airlines. UVA enjoys VATSIM "Heritage" virtual airline status, recognizing its long term presence. Through the years we have paralleled United's expansions, contractions and its mergers.

Now approaching 300,000 flights, the pilots at UVA have now logged more than 850,000 flight hours. UVA is the original United Virtual Airline, but we have continued to reinvent and improve ourselves, so as to keep pace with the needs of our pilot community. Through our innovative Dual Stream structure, whether you want to just fly, or you want to dig deep and learn, we provide it all.

New Infrastructure

This is our third website in our long history. With it comes a fresh updated look with upgraded features "under the hood", but with the same familiar values and quality experience. It is just a new window into a solid, mature virtual airline, Development will continue, in order to bring you the best in web presence.

We have added a UVA Discord server. This adds to the Forums, and VATSIM chat for Pilot interaction.

UVA is all about Choices

Career Path

UVA has now adopted a unique Dual Stream construct. Two complementary ways that you can advance in your career, it is your choice. You can participate in just one, or both.

Dual stream includes the traditional VA seniority advancement by flight hours. But as well there is advancement by optional Rating Checkrides, these are challenging and highly educational and will advance you more quickly. All pilots also have access to optional Flight Reviews, personalized critiques of your flying all gauged to help you fly better.

To expedite your career, VATSIM hours can now be used as a credit, towards your UVA flight logbook.

Flight Simulator Platforms

UVA supports use of MS2024, MS2020, XPlane, Prepar3D, or older legacy flight sims, running on a PC, MAC or linux.

Aircraft

United Airlines flies an exceptionally wide selection of aircraft types, from A to B to Z, and so does United Virtual. We also allow use of Star Alliance codeshare aircraft types, and there is even a new Classics flight schedule being developed to bring you the best of yesterday. But we take it even one step better, and have generous aircraft type substitution rules on our routes, that strive to allow you to fly the aircraft platform you want, on the route that you'd like.

Our schedule is continually updated and mirrors the United Airlines real world schedule. United Airlines and its codeshares travel the world over, so does United Virtual. Most any destination in the world is served by United, and you can fly there with UVA.
