I haven't posted in here before, so I thought I'd share some pictures from my "out and about" adventures. The plane is a 1967 Cessna 182K which belongs to a friend of mine. It's based out of Winchester VA (OKV). A while back someone hit a deer head on while landing at FRR nearby and in the rebuilding process, the owner put in a Continental O-520 285 HP engine with the 3-bladed prop. Incredible climb performance. I have a first officer as well. When she is not sleeping, she takes most of my pictures.

Here's some of the plane.

This is going into the Washington Dulles International IAD a while back in the early morning. The new runway had just opened and you can still see some Ted aircraft on the ramp.

This was a trip out to Tangier Island VA (TGI) which sits in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. Short runway, with frequent crosswinds, great and interesting people, and even better crab cake sandwiches. It has a very small population where everyone speaks with a Cornish accent. Everyone seems to share the same 3 or 4 last names. Only industry is crabbing for blue crabs.

This is interesting: a few cemeteries on the island and all the bodies are buried above ground because of the high water table. Most of the headstones date back to the early 1800's.

This was flight from Gatlinburg TN back home to OKV. We left in rain and low ceilings. We broke out soon after takeoff with a view of the Smoky Mountains sticking up through the overcast layer. The little guy on the dash is one of our flying companions which come along on every trip.

And finally, your's truly.

Thanks for looking.

Great shots, enjoyed viewing them!

Is that an HSI? Nice to have one, and a 430 and 55X?

No shots of the FO??

Great pics. Nice to see the green grass, particularly today.

Yep...King HSI, 430 and S-tec 55x along with datalink weather, stormscope, EDM700 engine display, and a CD player.

No green grass around here today...only 2 feet of blowing snow.

Thanks...I took a bunch of pictures while I was taxing on the ground at IAD, but most were kind of blurry or didn't show up that well. There is a lot going on there which makes it hard to get decent pictures.

My fiance and me have a little thing for bears. We always have at least one along for the trips. We must have at least 500 in the house.
