To ensure aircraft availability, the Board of Directors has changed the policy with regards to aircraft reservations. Effective immediately, a reservation will be cancelled and the aircraft made available for use by other pilots two days after the reservation. This is a change to paragraph 3.1 of the Aircrew SOP (which presently says four days).
At midnight zulu, the UVA system will automatically scan for reservations more than two days old and delete them, restore the aircraft to "available" status and email the pilot notifying him/her the reservation is now cancelled. Pilots should NOT fly the flight and attempt to auto-file a PIREP via UVACARS as there will be no reservation to file the PIREP against. Instead they must go back into the pilot center and reserve the flight again before filing the PIREP.
This NOTAM will remain in effect until the next revision to the Aircrew SOP.
